The Speedex 0 (Billy 0) is a small vertical folding camera, made by Agfa from 1932 to 1937. It makes eight pictures 4x6.5 cm on 127 roll film. The lens is either an f/3.9 Solinar (a Tessar-type) in a Compur shutter (as pictured), or f/5.6 Igestar anastigmat in a dial-set Pronto shutter. It is focused by screwing the front element in and out.

What is it? The front plate on this camera says it is an AGFA B2 Commander, which is a folding camera from the 1940s that takes 120 roll film and uses scale focus. Beyond that, I have struggled to find more information about this little camera online.

Oct 8, 2005. #2. Dorothy, I recently bought a B2 Speedex, and its a wonderfull camera. The front lens element should be easy to screw off: just take those 2 tiny screws in the focus scale out, take out the focus scale, and screw out the lenses (might come out in a pair, might come out one at a time). This is how I "opened up" my Agfa Jsolette V.

The similar Ansco B2 Speedex has a top shutter speed of 1/250 and is available on the used market for about the same money as this Standard Speedex. The slowest film I had on hand was Ilford FP4 Plus at ISO 125. That meant on a sunny day I was going to be shooting at f/16 and f/22. Everything within a mile of that lens would be in focus.

The B2 Speedex was made in Binghamton, New York by Agfa Ansco. It is very similar to early Agfa Isolette cameras and it was made around 1940. "B2" is what Agfa called 120 film back in the day. Shutter: It has an unmarked shutter, which features shutter speeds of B, T, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250. It is rather uncommon for a shutter not to be.

The B2 Speedex was made starting in about 1940 and as best as I can tell was the entry-level Speedex camera, at least at that time. But in this case entry level didn't mean cheap; it came with an 85 mm f/4.5 Agfa Anastigmat lens.
